
GreenStep City
In April 2022, the City of New Prague joined the GreenStep City initiative- a voluntary program designed to help cities achieve their sustainability and quality-of-life goals. GreenStep Cities is a public-private partnership led by Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and several partner organizations. The voluntary program feature five recognition steps that are achieved through implementing some of the 29 GreenStep best practices.
The City of New Prague adopted a resolution to enroll in the free program, which aligns with the City of New Prague's goal of incorporating environmental sustainability into its community values and strategic priorities. New Prague is 1 of 150 participating Minnesota cities and tribal nations, completing best practices that reduce energy use, save money, and conserve resources to overall improve sustainability and quality of life in our community.
